  1. This bike looks amazing! Too bad it costs almost 6k. I can’t see buying
    this over something like the Prodeco Phantom x3 that costs around $1800. An
    extra 8mph top speed and similar range isn’t worth the extra 4k IMO. Do you
    know of other advantages of this bike that would warrant the high price
    tag?

  2. They put a powerful electric motor and huge battery on this bike and the
    result is that it only weighs 14 pounds more than my bike. 

  3. In scandinavia this bike costs about 5000 us, but has a motor limitation on
    18 mph..sucks..envy you guys over there, who can ride at 30 mph..wow.. :(

  4. Thanks for your review of a beautiful bike. Your reviews inspired me to go
    electric. I took my Giant mtn bike and added a Bafang 350W mid-drive. The
    cost including the battery was about $1200. I really enjoy the mid-drive’s
    ability to add perfect assist, no matter what the terrain and I have both
    front and rear suspension, which is really nice when going fast. The bike
    weighs about 41 lbs and is pretty fast, though not as fast as the Turbo.
    Since nothing is changed on the wheels it is easy to fix a flat or remove a
    wheel for transport. The kit has a nice display and features both PAS mode
    and a throttle which is unrestricted. The only production bike that I have
    seen that is close is the Currie Izip E3 peak, though that does not have
    rear suspension. The Hai bikes are similar to my bike, and while the Bosch
    motor is better, they don’t have a throttle and the pedelec cuts out at 20
    mph. I’d like to see some manufacturer put it all together: mid-drive,
    battery in frame, dual suspension, torque sensing pedelec with assist up to
    28 mph, motor cutout while shifting, a throttle, and a water bottle cage!

  6. Hate the hub motor design, but like easy motion, it has so many other
    positives going for it. At $5900, it’s head-to-head against Optibike’s more
    powerful SIMBB. But this Specialized is certainly refined! Court, from
    watching your other vids, e.g., the Jim of Optibike vid where he explains
    why he doesnt like regen – the part of this vid that talks about regen is
    much clearer with the foundation of knowledge you laid down earlier. So,
    thanks for all your efforts…If we could only take the best parts of each
    mfgr and make the ultimate mid-drive w/a cool MTB frame and features like a
    removable control panel and slickly designed removable battery to carry
    inside (like e-motions), we’d have it made in da shade! …If wishes were
    fishes and all that…

  8. It is very obvious Specialized used ST1 as a role model (just put these
    side by side). Looks like ST1 is better with 2 K less to spend.

  9. I like this specialized bike. However, it looks a bit of resistance on
    coasting. It really made for performance riding.
    I wondered how do you like this bike vs. the OHM sport? Please let me know.
    

  10. I don’t understand your prejudice against the battery that fits over the
    back tire. I have one and it’s great, I’ve never even noticed it. There
    is no reason this bike should cost $6000, even if it doesn’t have the
    battery over the back tire, LOL! I don’t know why they cost so much, I
    mean you can buy a motorcycle with tons more engineering for this price.
    What is keeping the costs up? The materials and components can’t be much
    of the cost. Is it because the market is too small? Or do these ebike
    makers like to keep the prices high? Someone soon will come along and make
    a really nice bike, as good as this one, for a reasonable price.
