  1. It’s a strange country where bicycle seats and wheels are desirable and
    worth stealing.

I should buy a better lock though. I have a simple cable lock and my bike
is worth 1500$. A thief could ride it away in seconds. Luckily even in city
centre no-one has yet stolen it. Dunno why.

  2. I was going to buy that new york kryptonite lock while ago as shown in 2.10
but there are videos about it and how easy is to breake. It took like 20sec
to cut those chains… so 😀 Its not a A lock.

  3. Maybe the guy took the wheel with him. That guy could be smart for all we
know. Why you think he only locked the front wheel.

  4. When I need to lock my bike for over 10 minutes, I’m using Bully Alarm
U-Lock with pager (awesome!), either kryptonite new york noose chain or
kryptonite new york standard lock (depends where I am going) and also the
kryptonite kryptoflex for my seat. I also have a 120db alarm on my bike,
glued ball bearing on some allen bolts, put on national bike registry
sticker and even a fake “gps warning” sticker. I think I deserve an A
grade…. unless I go lock my bike on some easily removable post.

  5. Most standard bolt cutters, the ones thieves can fit in a backpack, can
only cut small to medium sized chain links. The chain links on that bike
    are too thick.

  6. I use a Kryptonite New York mini U lock on my frame, and special theft
deterrent tire skewers to secure my wheels. No problems with this setup so
far. but I don’t leave it out overnight, or in secluded areas.
