We purchased this race track as a Christmas present for our 4-year old toddler. Some would say more for Dad, but our toddler really enjoys racing against Dad. Although the product itself has no educational value, we have incorporated role playing (acting as drivers, crew members, etc.) and have used it as opportunity for teaching sharing, helping others, patience/obedience, etc.

As a toddler, he doesn’t have the motor skills nor thinking capability to design and create a track. This is likely why the toy manufacturer suggests the toy is for older children. However, Dad can build the track with suggestions from our toddler. This provides more opportunity for teaching.

Since Christmas, two pieces of track have become unusable. The plastic “tabs” at each end of the track used to “lock” the track pieces to one another break off easily. Hence, the toy is not very durable. The unused track gets tossed in the trash can and a new track gets created.
