Indian bike market has witnessed an onslaught of latest bikes in last two years. From popular Indian bike manufacturers like Bajaj, Hero Honda, TVS etc to international biking wizards like Suzuki, Harley Davidson & others, every company is trying to capture its share of success in Indian motorcycle743 industry. All these renowned automobile manufacturers have rolled out their best bikes on Indian roads. Boosting off modern designs, sporty appearances, latest gadgets, powerful engine and numerous features, the new launch bikes in India have a wide variety for every segment. Various categories like 100cc Bikes, 125cc Bikes, 150-500cc Bikes, Above 500cc Bikes and Electronic Bikes have got a number of options available to choose for your best bike.

Recently, the launch of Yamaha SZ in 150cc segment has challenged the supremacy of Baja Pulsar in this segment. SZ has driven into direct competition with Honda Unicorn, TVS Victor and Bajaj Pulsar. Loaded with 153cc, 4-stroke with air cooled engine alongside some outstanding features, Yamaha SZ is a perfect blend of style & performance. A price tag of Rs. 52,000 makes it easily affordable for middle class. Another popular launch in 150cc segment, being that of Baja Discover 150 has created a buzz in this most popular motorcycle segment in India. The new Doscover 150 features a much powerful 150cc engine along with a promise of best mileage in its class. All this in a price tag of Rs 46,000 makes Bajaj Discover a best buy.

In sports bike category, Indian bike market is witnessing a revolutionary time with the launch of Harley Davidson in India. The American biking legend Harley Davidson has launched four variants of Sportster series in India. The Harley Davidson XL 883L Sportster, Harley Davidson XL 883R Roadster, Harley Davidson XL 1200N Nightster and Harley Davidson XR 1200X boost off an engine capacity from 883 cc to 1202 cc. Besides this, Honda has also launched its sports bike Honda VFR 1200F in India. The new sports ride is powered by a fuel-injected, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine with a displacement of 1237cc. A major highlight of VFR 1200F is its fuel efficiency which is as high as 15.9 km per litre. All these exuberant features make the sports bike lover enjoy a treat of super bikes in India.

Other segments like 125cc & 100cc have also got many new entrants like Yamaha Ss 125, Baja Pulsar 135cc etc. These new bike launches ensure best mileage bikes with a low price tag. All in all, the Indian bike industry is at an all time high with new bike launches on almost weekly basis.

I have been very pleased with my DAYMAK AUSTIN electric motor bike. This is the fourth season of riding around the city streets and local highways. I have had a few electrical/electronic issues which I repaired quickly. However as with all new things there is room for improvement. Wouldn’t low speed reverse be nice for backing your bike into the shed or garage. How about going FASTER with MORE torque. After all that then there is the sealed lead acid battery pack. Control of the low battery cut off voltage without starting a fire. Maybe regenerative braking to extend battery capacity. A faster, quicker charger would be nice. How about a solar charger. You’ll want to checkout my 12V to 48V DC-DC inverter charging circuit that uses solar energy stored in a 12V battery and charges my 48V battery pack for free at the end of this video. I have made a few of these as well as a RV charger that charges the ebike’s 48V to 72V battery while the RV is being driven from town to town. I’m not the only crazy eletronics guy who thinks that these new electric vehicles are the way to go. Well I set out to make my own controller with a few improvements. I started by making my own 3-phase brushless DC hub motor controller circuit and board PC board layout. Exposed, developed, etched the PC board from scratch. Drilled out all the holes and assembled the parts into the controller board. Using my in-circuit programmer debugger I wrote up the machine language program and downloaded it. Bingo a
